The Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Societies (AMCOS) serve as a local place where farmers come together to mill their coffee and facilitate its marketing. While AMCOS handle the pre-preparation of the coffee for export, the actual exportation process is managed by local exporters. Each AMCOS operates independently with its own elected board, representing the collective interests of the farmer members.
While maintaining strict standards for processing and preparation and from cherry sorting as well as drying and grading, AMCOS ensure meticulous care and quality control.
The Kilimanjaro Peaberry coffee is sourced from various AMCOS located in the northern regions of Tanzania, primarily in the Kilimanjaro and Arusha regions.
